The Bundeswehr Orchestra drew around 4,000 spectators to Plauen's Altmarkt on Thursday (August 29). The event was organized by the Kiwanis Club Plauen, which was able to bring the band to Plauen thanks to funding from the "Sustainable inner cities and centers" funding programme. The concerts are free of charge, but donations are collected during the performances. These are intended for three Plauen institutions: The almost 8,500 euros raised will be shared between the ALSO association's school support service, the children's home on Straßberger Straße and the park railroad.
The evening's program was a colourful mix: from pop to rock, 20 musicians played with the vocal duo Sofia Andersson and Marco Matias. Mayor Steffen Zenner and his wife Cornelia, top princess Maxi Schulz and Vice President of the German Bundestag Yvonne Magwas (MP) were also among the visitors.
