After the Lace Festival was canceled due to the weather, one thing is certain: it will be held in a smaller format. The Lace Festival Special will take place on August 24, 2024 from 1 p.m. to midnight on the Malzhaus grounds. The Lace Festival Association, together with the umbrella organization Stadtmarketing Plauen e.V. and the Malzhaus socio-cultural center, is organizing the one-day event for the whole family.
From 1 p.m., the "Spitz'nKidz" family festival, which is funded by the federal program "Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren" and takes place as part of the Kultursommer, will celebrate its premiere with the support of the Helios Vogtland-Klinikum Plauen. The unique pop, rock, folk and punk children's concerts with "Jonny Karacho" with teddy stage dive and concert workshop as well as "Richards Kindermusikladen", which stands for music with groove and heart, will certainly not only make children cheer and dance.
There is also plenty of variety in the hands-on area. Under the motto "Country Idyll", country life makes its way into the middle of the city and a giant straw castle as well as numerous craft, play and creative activities await young visitors. A DJ will provide music and a good atmosphere for sporting activities such as basketball, table football and table tennis.
The varied program is framed by the 1st Plauen Dance Studio and a Zwirndl fashion show, in which a world full of dirndl dresses, which also feature exclusive Plauen lace, are presented.
After the support band "Hannah und die Mondschieber", who will enchant their audience with acoustic folk and pop sounds in the early evening, Stadtwerke Erdgas Plauen will present Andreas Kümmert as the headliner at 9 pm. The blues-rock singer, known from the show The Voice of Germany 2013, always gives his audience goosebumps with his characteristic voice.
At the after-show party, all hip hop fans will get their money's worth with the Dip & Aufstrich Crew and Mordrake together with DJ Mille Mc Lovin.

Varied program
The program includes a giant straw castle, numerous craft, play and creative activities under the motto "Land-Idyll", sports activities with a DJ as well as dance performances and a Zwirndl fashion show. Visitors can also expect music from various artists such as Andreas Kümmert and Hannah und die Mondschieber, followed by an after-show party for hip hop fans.
